Martin Down

Martin is an APECS Accredited Executive Coach with a maturity of International experience of coaching senior Executives from different disciplines in the public and private sectors. He provides 1:1 Coaching and Executive Team Facilitation. He brings a strong business focus with expertise in leadership, learning and organizational change.

Martin supports his clients in taking a systemic approach to problem solving to clarify the underlying organizational dilemmas, addressing the needs of the whole personal and the political/emotional as well as rational reactions to change.

Martin is an Associate of Performance Coaching International and Founder of a niche consultancy that specialises in providing coaching to support organizational and personal change. This draws on his background as an Executive Coach and Change consultant with one of the world's leading strategy implementation providers. Martin is familiar with confronting personal change through participating in personally challenging events, including the world's largest trans-ocean sailing event.

  • Coaching members of top 250 Executives of global organization as part of a leadership development programme focused on getting the best from others.
  • Coaching a Managing Director of a major PLC to support a transition to a new role.
  • Coaching the Executive team of a major global organization to build leadership alignment for change

  • Mentoring Executives to create a Communication and Engagement plan for change
  • Mentoring a Change Manager in tools and techniques to drive change

Martin is the author of a number of articles including Leading through Conflict, Measurement of Coaching and Managing Change.

Recent Clients include: Zurich Financial Services, ABN Amro, Corus, Philips, Department of Education, National Health Service and Bromley Borough Council.

Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) Anthropology, Durham University - giving him an understanding of culture and the psychology underpinning coaching
  • APECS Accredited Executive Coach - APECS are the top professional body for fully qualified Executive Coaches
  • Fellow:
    • Institute of Business Consulting
    • Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development
    • Royal Society of Arts.
  • Trained in specialist techniques for conflict resolution, team working, decision making, buy-in for change
